Our Commitment:
“Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury, play is a necessity.” (Kay Redfield Jamison) At our learning center, children will be immersed in all the materials to prepare for their future education and life skills. Your child will learn in a caring and nurturing environment to promote the foundations of life. Children will have the opportunity to build these skills daily through play, large and small group activities, outdoor play, rest, snacks and mealtime. Learning through play times will be the largest focus of learning in a variety of activities and child-driven interests. “When children pretend, they’re using their imagination to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.” (Fred Rogers)
We would be happy to schedule a tour of the child learning center and answer any questions! Please call us or send us an e-mail!
The main focus for infants in their environment will include a caring and nurturing surrounding to promote the foundations of life. Caring and nurturing staff will build healthy caregiver relationships with your infant child and promote growth and development in all the major milestone areas in the first year of life. “What infants need is the opportunity and time to take in and figure out the world around them.” (Magda Gerber) Infants will be taught the basics of sign language to help promote early communication skills. Center caregivers will work closely with parents to provide the best care they can and build positive partnerships with each family.
The toddlers will begin learning about the essentials of life and helping guide them through peer interactions and acknowledging themselves. Toddler caregivers will model appropriate interactions and help guide toddlers in building positive relationships with all around them. “When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it’s our job to share our calm, not to join their chaos,” (L.R. Knost) With support, toddlers will learn about social and emotional skills with building motor skills. Sign language will be continued in the toddler years as they transition to verbal communication.
Preschool children will begin learning skills that will prepare them for kindergarten such as literacy, mathematics, social-emotional, fine-motor, and gross-motor to create a solid foundation for their future. These skills will be immersed in all activities just like in a school setting. “Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.” (Robert John Meehan) Teachers will create an environment that allows endless learning opportunities for child to grow and succeed.
School Age children that come before and after school will be provided the time to play and socialize with their peers in a nurturing and positive environment. They will be allowed time after school to complete homework and get extra help if needed. There will also be outside play and the use of a gym when we have inclement weather.
During full day school age care, the children will follow a daily routine and be provided with fun activities and learning experiences. There will also be opportunities for the school age children to be exposed to community involvement. Our goal is to make them feel as much a part of this community as possible and be proud to be a member of this community that we reside in.
